Why Work Zone Safety Matters

Every year, National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) brings attention to the importance of safety in roadway work zones. From April 21-25, 2025, RoadSafe is joining this nationwide effort to protect workers, drivers, and pedestrians alike. With the theme “Respect the Zone, So We All Get Home,” we’re proud to lead the charge in making work zones safer across the country—because everyone deserves to make it home safely.

What RoadSafe Is Doing This Week

We’re hitting the ground running with a week full of events to promote work zone safety. Here’s a look at how RoadSafe is making a difference:

Monday, April 21: Work Zone Training Day

Our teams nationwide are kicking off the week with safety training, focusing on hazard recognition, fall prevention, and best practices to keep work zones secure for everyone.

Tuesday, April 22: National Kickoff Event

We’re spreading the word about safe driving and working habits—like staying alert, slowing down near work zones, and giving workers plenty of space.

Wednesday, April 23: Go Orange Day

RoadSafe crews across the country will light up in orange to show our commitment to work zone safety. Keep an eye out for our teams in their bright gear—it’s a nationwide show of solidarity!

Thursday, April 24: Social Media Storm | National Day of Hiring

We’re taking over social media from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET with orange pics and safety messages. Follow us and join in with #NWZAW and #Orange4Safety!

Friday, April 25: Moment of Silence
